April Fools Day

This year for April Fools we mixed up our meals. After the kids woke up we feed them a lunch of peanut butter sandwiches and milk.

Then we noticed the joke the weather had played on us!

Snow in April!

We got a lot!

at noon we ate dinner, Goulash and water with red food coloring, the kids thought it was Kool-aid.

Then the kids put on their snow gear and headed outside for some winter fun.

Cute Joseph posing.

Isaac showing his approval

look at all that snow.

Eli got all bundled up too but didn't last outside, I think the cold wind was too much for him.

smiling with mommy...

Then at 6pm we had breakfast, orange juice with breakfast casserole, yummy!

Grandma Marcia and the Flanders kids brought us a treat and Eli had a great time eating it and getting messy!

we brought the mirror out so he could see his face.

See, it's a bird's nest with eggs!

I think it's time for a haircut...

This is Eli on his second birthday. Notice the funny clown hair?

This picture is a little better...

This one kinda shows the curls over his ears...

and this is after his haircut! There still seems to be some curl!

My sister Julia agreed to help me by cutting his hair.

He wasn't so sure about the whole thing.

Mom had to hold him so we both got hair ALL over us!

Then we took a picture of him next to a Kewpie doll cause Julia says he looks like one!

I took his shirt off and had him just wear his coat home! We got a picture with Kate and his cousin Eli.

Our Patty's Day

We had a fun time on St. Patrick's Day.

Kate went to preschool and came home with this cute hat.

"Kiss me I'm Irish!"

Eli with his wild hair! (the day after we got his hair cut)

I made corned beef in the crockpot for dinner.

All done and ready to eat!

We ate corned beef, green beans, baked potatoes with green butter, chives and green sour cream and had green lemonade to drink!

I was happy to see 3 out of the 4 children (Eli is going through a picky eater stage) eating the corned beef and liking it! Hooray for children who eat their food!

Clark Planetarium

Kate and her preschool group went to the Clark Planetarium on a field trip. Eli and I went along too.

Here the kids are watching the balls move along the conveyor belts and up the tubes.

The whole thing was really tall and loud with all the noises it made.

They had these "planets" moving above our heads.

The kids got to stand on the moon!

Eli went to visit Mars!

Kate decided to explore Mars too.

Happy Birthday Grandma Bentley!

Last Friday we went over to my mom's house to help celebrate her birthday. We brought dinner with us and then had carob cake for dessert.

Kate picked the color of the frosting and Isaac helped place the candles. The grouping at the bottom is in the shape of a heart! So sweet!

We hope you had a nice day! We love you!

Classic Fun Center

Grandma Bartlett took the grandkids to Classic Fun Center for some bouncing and skating.

Here is Serenity looking sweet.

Nate came and decided to rent some rollerblades. After that he went into "the blast zone" and thoroughly enjoyed pelting little kids with Nerf balls. Later he took the bigger kids to play laser tag. His character was Chuck Norris and he was quite pleased with himself when he got the highest score!

Isaac, Abram and Joseph liked playing in the "Jungle"

Ben was really cute and not afraid to try all of the bounce houses.

Even Colleen and Lydia got in on the fun.

Pretty Kate!

Cameron looked so funny down in this hole!

Here is Ben jumping with excitement!

Kate and Cameron

I was surprised Kate went down the big slides at all. Once she tried it, she had a blast.

Thanks for the fun night!

He's a Wolf!

At the Blue and Gold banquet last month Isaac received his Wolf.

I bought this cool ribbon to wear so he doesn't have to pin my shirt.

He chose the "round of applause" for his cheer.

After this I was called to be the Wolf Den leader.
